Minnesota High School Football Polls at Halfway Mark

The Associated Press latest rankings for Minnesota High School Football do not appear to allow COVID-19 to influence them. I'm not necessarily advocating that just pointing out the fact there are teams with COVID-19 issues on these lists.

I still don't understand why they can't break ties with some formula.  I would use points allowed or something.  Not most points scored because then you would have teams trying to run up scores to get the nod in case of a tie in the polls.

Even a flip of the coin would work.  Most people voting in these polls have never seen some of these teams anyway.

Class 5A still has St. Thomas Academy on top but the Owatonna Huskies are second and received some first place votes.  Unfortunately for the Huskies they lost a game with state ranked Mankato West this week and picked up the Monticello Magic on the road.

The Cannon Falls Bombers throttled Rochester Lourdes last Saturday to move up one notch to #2 in Class 3A.  The Lourdes Eagles were dropped to #10 following the Bombers domination.  The Bombers have a bye this week.
