Minnesota’s Flu Activity Hits Season Low
St Paul (KROC AM News) - Yes, flu activity is still being reported in Minnesota even as the Memorial Day weekend has arrived.
But in its weekly update on flu activity around the state, the Minnesota Health Dept.has lowered the level to sporadic.
That’s the lowest level of activity the department uses. It’s also the lowest level since late November.
The current influenza season is one of the worst in recent years.
As of last week, hospitalizations involving patients with the flu had climbed to more than 6400. There were nine more last week. That’s about 3,000 more than the previous season and the highest in several years.
So far this season, there have been five confirmed pediatric deaths involving influenza cases.
