St. Croix State Park is Minnesota's largest state park. It is located in Hinckley, MN, which is just under an hour and a half south of Duluth. It is close to the Wisconsin border. This state park is pretty massive, coming in at about 34,000 acres according to Only in Your State!

Me being the curious person that I am, I wanted to know what iconic, large pieces of land are actually smaller than St. Croix State Park. Central Park in New York City is, of course, extremely iconic and is a huge park right in the middle of NYC. Everyone knows about Central Park! Turns out, it is pretty puny compared to St. Croix State Park.

So like I said, St. Croix State Park is about 34,000 acres. Central Park is "just" 840 acres. That means St. Croix State Park is about 40 times the size of Central Park! That kind of paints a picture of just how big this state park is. You can fit 40 Central Parks inside of the St. Croix State Park. That is crazy!

Campgrounds at St. Croix State Park are currently open if you are looking for a spot to go camping. You can check out more details on the Minnesota DNR website. There are also many hiking trails. You can find a map of them HERE. And there are Canoe and kayak rentals available on Saturdays and Sundays through Pardun's Canoe Rental. So many cool things to do at Minnesota's largest state park!
