Twin Cities NWS Predicting Possible Severe Storms This Afternoon

Remain sky aware this afternoon, as the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities is predicting possible severe storms, capable of producing large hail, which could pop up between 3-7 pm this afternoon in a line running just East of I-35 to the Wisconsin border.

The highest level of possible severe weather is concentrated over much of Southeastern Minnesota including portions of Rice County, all of Goodhue County, Dakota County, Scott County, Steele County, Dodge County, Freeborn County, and Olmsted County.

The National Weather Service posted this message in regards to the potential severe weather this afternoon.

More thunderstorms could redevelop later this afternoon along and east of I-35. The most likely time frame for storms currently looks to be 3pm to 7pm. A few storms could be severe and produce large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. Please have a way to receive severe weather watches and warnings!

Earlier this morning a storm line of storms rumbled through portions of Central Minnesota leaving behind widespread hail damage from the large hail that the storms produced.
