The North American Farm and Power Show, held annually in the month of March at the Steele County Fairgrounds at the Four Seasons Event Center, announced this morning that it will be canceling the show again this year, this time over restrictions for how many people can be in attendance, due to Executive Orders.

A press release from Tradexpos, Inc, who runs the show, stated that:

For the second year the North American Farm and Power Show has met an unfortunate demise. The Tradexpos team has been ardently preparing for the 2021 show and most preparations were complete. Unfortunately, Minnesota’s covid-19 status, although improved, is still not enough to safely justify a large event.

Show Director Brock Nelson stated in the release, “We’ve held off on making this decision for as long as possible, but it’s important to us that our exhibitors have enough advanced notice to adjust their marketing plans and undo their preparation for the show. Everyone involved wants to have the show, however, we understand the current conditions regarding the pandemic.”

The North American Farm and Power Show is scheduled to resume in 2022 on March 17th, 18th, and 19th at the Four Seasons Event Center located at the Steele County Fairgrounds.

The announcement comes on a day in which Gov Walz dialed back restrictions for certain events including, "Increasing indoor entertainment “not to exceed” capacity to 250, while leaving the maximum capacity at 25%." Gov. Walz also increased the hours restaurants and bars can be open from 10pm to 11pm while increasing capacity to 250 persons and not exceeding 50% occupancy.

The dial back takes effect beginning at 11pm Saturday February 13th.
