Person Killed at Byron Business

Byron, MN  (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent fatal accident in Byron. 

A 911 call was made from around 7:00 AM Thursday about a fire at Duke Aerial. The caller said it involved an elevated boom on a piece of equipment at the business.

Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns says deputies arrived to learn a person who had been operating the boom had died. Behrns says the platform of the elevated boom had apparently made contact with an overhead power line.

Behrns says it’s not known if the victim was an employee of the business.
