Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn says his office was dispatched to a single vehicle crash resulting in injury Friday evening.  The call came in approximately 6:48 p.m.

The call came in as a vehicle in the ditch off Bagley Avenue just north of HIghway 21 in Faribault.  This was near Airtech Drive.

The Sheriff's Department news release states, "Responding units located the crash and found a single female victim.  She was in critical condition due to injuries sustained in the crash.  She was extricated from the vehicle and was flown by helicopter to North Memorial in the Twin Cities.  The driver was not wearing her seatbelt."

The woman was identified as Amanda Bentley, Age 41 of rural Northfield.

Sergeant Mark Hlady with the Rice County Sheriff's Office says the crash remains under investigation.

Assisting the Sheriff's Office on scene were the Faribault Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Faribault Rescue and North Ambulance.

The lone occupant again was not wearing a seatbelt.  A reminder for all of us to strap in when going on any trip in a vehicle.  All occupants need to wear their seatbelt in case an accident occurs.
