Popular Mazeppa Bar Wiped Out by Fire

Mazeppa, MN (KROC-AM News) - An investigator from the State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called to Mazeppa to search for the cause of the early morning fire that wiped out a popular bar and restaurant.

The Mazeppa Fire Department was alerted to the fire at WD’s Bar and Grill shortly after 3:30 and ended up requesting assistance from fire departments in four nearby communities in battling the blaze. Reports from the scene indicated the over 100-year-old building was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and was completely destroyed, but there were no injuries.

A dollar estimate of the loss is not yet available.
