Rain Today…First Frost Wednesday? Welcome to Fall
What a difference a day can make. Southern Minnesotans woke up this morning to temps in the low 50s, a day after temps were in the low to mid-80s yesterday. This afternoon is shaping up to be a wet one, with rain expected to move into the area around noon according to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities. These cooler temps will stick around a few days before rebounding into the 70s later this week. Besides the rain today, Minnesotans might be welcoming in our first frost Wednesday morning.
The rain is expected to stick to a line that will see Faribault getting some showers this afternoon but Owatonna and all points south look like it will be dry today.
The chance for rain extends through mid-week, and Wednesday morning there is a chance for our first frost. Morning temps are expected to be between 35-40 Wednesday, leading to the possibility we see some white grass blades.
The first frost will be some good news for allergy sufferers, as that usually means we are starting to get to the end of 'grow and blow' season.
