SE Minnesota Facing Threat of Severe Weather, Heavy Rain
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – Southeastern Minnesota is facing a threat of severe weather and Rochester could receive 1 - 2 inches of rain Monday.
The National Weather Service issued this advisory Sunday morning:
At least two rounds of thunderstorms could bring heavy rain and other severe weather threats to the area Monday and again on Tuesday. Tuesday looks to be the day of greatest concern with the threat for rapid rain runoff from thunderstorms and other severe weather threats possible, especially south of Interstate 90.
In the meantime, SE Minnesota residents will enjoy another beautiful day Sunday with sunshine and highs in the 70s.
At this time a year ago, the Rochester area was baking. The city had a six-day run with highs of 90 or hotter, including 95 on Memorial Day.
News update: Rochester is adding more than 100 people per month.
