Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Forecasters say slick driving conditions can be expected across much of southern Minnesota on Sunday.

The warmer air arriving in the region is also carrying moisture that is expected to produce a snowy day in the Rochester area and other parts of southeastern and south-central Minnesota, along with areas of northern Iowa. The National Weather Service is predicting the snow will begin falling in northern Iowa early Sunday morning and spread into Minnesota before tapering off Sunday afternoon.

A winter weather advisory has been posted for portions of south-central Minnesota and a large area of Iowa from 6 AM through 6 PM on Sunday. 2-4 inches of accumulation is forecast for the areas included in the advisory, while the current forecast is calling for 2-3 inches of new snow in Rochester and up to four inches south of I-90.
