So How Much Snow Is Expected In Faribault This Week?
I feel like a broken record blowing the trumpet to warn of the impending snowfall, but here we are once again. Most of Southern Minnesota is going to be in a Winter Storm Warning beginning at midnight tonight through 6pm Wednesday, and when it's all said and done we might be staring at 6-8" of new powder with more to come this weekend.
In a tweet sent this morning from the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, they are saying the Faribault and Owatonna area will be looking at 6-8" of snow by the end of the day Wednesday, causing headaches for tomorrow morning and more than likely evenings commutes.
So after this blast of snow, expect to see our temps stick around the freezing point until we get to the weekend where they are predicting another snowstorm will move through Saturday. Right now they have it starting off as rain changing over to snow as Saturday moves along. Saturday night they are saying another 5-8" of snow to land in our area.
So by Sunday, we could be seeing somewhere in the realm of 11-16" of NEW snow in the area, something that snowmobilers, skiers, and snowboarders have been wanting an abundance of the last few years. Many of us, however, would rather put the shovels away.
