Steele County Most Wanted Includes Man Wanted For Financial Fraud
The Steele County Sheriff's Office sent out its latest Steele Star publication and with it comes Steele County's Most Wanted for this month. The two individuals are wanted for two very different crimes.
The first individual wanted by the Steele County Sheriff's Office is Andrew Michael Wilson. The 6'7 300 pound 33-year-old is wanted on charges stemming from what the Steele County Sheriff's Office states in the Behind the Steele Star publication as "Financial Card Fraud".
The second most wanted individual is 28-year-old Darian Margaret Bohlman-Reyna. Bohlman-Reyna is listed as 5'2 with brown eyes and black hair. Bohlman-Reyna is wanted on charges of "5th Degree Drugs" according to the Steele Star.
If you know the whereabouts of either of these two individuals you should contact the Steele County Sheriff's Office.
Also in this month's publication from the Steele County Sheriff's Office, there have been increasing cases of fraud being reported. The Steele County Sheriff's Office wrote that:
A recent report shows people over the age of 60 are at the highest risk. 2020 saw a total of 105,301 individuals over 60 report being the victim of fraud with the average dollar loss being around $9,175.
Some of the common fraud scams include: non-payment/non-delivery when ordering online, lottery scams, sweepstakes scams, inheritance scams, romance scams, technical support scams, extortion, government impersonation, and investment scams.
If you feel like you've been a victim of a scam you should reach out to law enforcement as soon as possible. Remember that institutions like the Sheriff's Office and Owatonna Police Department won't call you regarding a warrant and that iTunes gift cards aren't taken in place of actual bail money. If something seems off, hang up and call the actual law enforcement agency and ask to speak to a deputy to officer in charge to ensure that there is indeed something wrong.
