Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The winter storm that moved across southern Minnesota Sunday dropped 6 - 12 inches of snow.

The highest total reported to the National Weather Service was 15.5 inches in Lake Crystal.

St James reported 12.5 inches and the Mankato area received 11.5 inches. Elsewhere, Elba in Winona County reported 10.5 inches, Austin,Waseca, and Kasson received around 10 inches and 9-inch totals were reported in Byron, Dodge Center, Douglas, Oronoco, Stewartville, and the Rochester area.

Rochester’s 9.4 inches broke the 6.5-inch record for Feb 9th which was set in 1909.

This was the first significant snow in Rochester since Jan. 22.
