The Minnesota Animal Humane Society announced Friday that they received a huge donation of $3 million! It's the largest donation the Animal Humane Society has ever received in their 142-year history. But who is the generous person who made this donation?

It was actually the former CEO of Bloomington-based company Toro. His name is Ken Melrose and he told Bring Me the News that he is a "lifelong animal lover and longtime supporter of the AHS." He said, "'Animal Humane Society is one of the most sophisticated and forward-thinking humane organizations in the nation. I am excited to invest in their vision for the future of animal welfare.'"

The Animal Humane Society plans to use this money to "'support the eventual construction of a new, first-of-its-kind adoption and animal care campus in St. Paul.'"
