Byron, MN (KROC AM News) - A store receipt left in a vehicle that was involved in a police chase in the Oronoco area Sunday helped authorities track down the suspect.

The truck was ditched in a farm field during the pursuit and the driver ran to a nearby home where he stole a car. It was later found abandoned in Wabasha County.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns says investigators went to the Rochester retail store where the receipt came from and were able to determine the man they were looking for was 30-year-old Michael Price. Behrns says Price used his debit card to make a purchase at the store.

Price was eventually located at his girlfriend’s house in Byron around 6:00 PM Monday. Behrns says after a three-hour wait, deputies decided to enter the home and eventually found him hiding in the trunk of a car in the garage.
