Three League G Teams Survive 3rd District Legion Tournament

League G sent five teams to the 2021 Sub-State East Central American Legion Baseball Tournament in Arlington and Green Isle this weekend.

Kenyon-Wanamingo, Cannon Falls and Randolph survived the first weekend of the double elimination tournament. Goodhue and Medford were eliminated.

Randolph won a thriller over LeSueur-Henderson 6-5 today in Green Isle. They play Friday, July 23, 2021 in Green Isle against Watertown which won their game with Rockford by the same 6-5 score.

In Arlington, Cannon Falls defeated Cleveland 5-2 while Kenyon-Wanamingo blanked Medford 9-0.

The Bombers and Knights will collide at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021 in Arlington.

Winners of Friday's elimination bracket games will play winner's bracket semifinals losers Friday night.

Remaining in the winner's bracket are four of the five teams from League E. Host team Sibley East plays Norwood 4:30 p.m. in Green Isle. The team that does not win plays the winner of the Randolph/Watertown game 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021.

In the other semifinals game Holy Family tangles with Plato at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021 in Arlington. The team that does not win faces the Cannon Falls/Kenyon-Wanamingo victor at 6:00 p.m. Friday in Arlington.

Winners of the Friday elimination bracket games will play Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Green Isle.

The winners of the winner's bracket games Friday will play Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in Arlington with the team that is victorious having to be defeated twice on Sunday.

The 34th Annual Division II American Legion State Tournament is hosted by Sacred Heart with games Friday, July 30, 2021 through Sunday, August 1, 2021.

All games are scheduled to be played at Veterans Field in Ely, Minnesota.

Still alive in the Southeast Sub-State Tournament are Pine Island, Lacrescent, Rochester Eagles and Chatfield.

Lacrescent plays Pine Island 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 in St. Charles followed by Rochester against Chatfield. Winners play Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.

Loser's of the first games in the final four play Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 12:30 p.m.

Loser of the 10:00 a.m. game plays at 3:00 p.m. Saturday against winner of elimination bracket game. Winner of the 10:00 a.m. game plays Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. and has to be defeated twice not to advance to the State Tournament in Ely.
