Vietnam Memorial Wall Faribault Co-Chairs Peter Van Sluis and Kirk Mansfield will be on KDHL for AM Minnesota on Monday to give details about the upcoming visit.

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute owns the 80 percent scale Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall. It's the largest traveling replica of the wall in Washington, D.C.

We will learn about the escort Wednesday afternoon, opening ceremony and all the happenings.

Peter tells me the numbers of people expressing interest in volunteering has been very good. We'll find out if they still need more.

There are four replica traveling walls as I understand it, and this is the No. 1 booked and most visited Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall Replica.

The wall coming to Faribault was in Sturgis, S.D., August 6-14. It is coming to Faribault after a visit to Bloomington, Ill., August 24-28. From here it will head to Plano, Texas, September 7-11.

The Outdoor Replica Wall was made in the U.S.A. and engraved by a United States Marine Corps Vietnam veteran.

According to the American Veterans Traveling Tribute website, "it was made so those without the means or ability to travel to the national memorial in Washington, D.C., can show their respect and share in honoring" these true American heroes.

The names on the Traveling Vietnam Wall made the supreme sacrifice to preserve our freedoms.

I hope you can tune in Monday. If not, go to www.youtube.com/user/KDHLRadio and get the details.
