Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Twin Cities truck driver has been sentenced to jail and probation for causing a deadly traffic crash in Dodge County last year.

30-year-old Hashim Siddiq went before a judge in Steele County on Monday and was ordered to spend up to five years on probation and serve 240 days in jail in a staggered sentence over the next several years. His first 60-day jail term with work release privileges is scheduled to begin this September and will be followed by yearly 60 day stays in the jail through 2023.

Siddig previously pleaded guilty to felony criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation charges for causing the crash that killed 67-year-old Allison Anderson of Owatonna and severely injured her husband Todd Anderson while attempting to pass a vehicle while driving a semi-truck in dense fog on Highway 14 near Claremont in early February 2019.
