The Minnesota Twins are back in the playoffs in 2020, as they finished this shortened season as the AL Central Champions, for the second consecutive year, under manager Rocco Baldelli. The team finished 36-24 which was the 3rd best record in the American League. For their efforts, the Twins were seeded third and will take on the 6-seed Houston Astros in the best of three games playoff at Target Field beginning tomorrow.

If you were hoping to enjoy some Minnesota playoff baseball after work, I hope you work early. The Twins and Astros will kick off their series beginning at 1pm tomorrow. After the opening round of playoff games the winner teams move on to a bubble either in California for AL teams, or Texas for NL teams.

Here are the game times for the upcoming Twins playoff series with Houston.

Tuesday, September 29th game time 1:00pm

Wednesday, September 30th game time 12:00pm

*Thursday, October 1st game time TBD (if needed)

The starting pitchers for game one have been announced as Zack Greinke for Houston with a 3-3 record and a 4.03 Earned Run Average. Taking to the bump for the Twins will be free-agent addition Kenta Maeda who has a season record of 6-1 and an Earned Run Average of  2.70.

For game 2, the Twins have announced Jose Berrios will be their starting pitcher, Houston has not yet announced who will start game 2, according to MLB's postseason website. 

According to the Twins official website, the Astros are 16-16 all-time in Minnesota, including 11-12 at Target Field. If the Twins win their series against Houston they will go on to play the winner of Oakland and Chicago in the American League Divisional Series being played in Los Angeles.
