Organizers of the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall visit to Faribault are putting out a request for volunteers. The Wall will be on the Rice County Fairgrounds September 1-5.

Volunteers are needed to assist visitors with finding names they are searching for on the Wall. Volunteers would look in a directory and write down the information for visitors.

Two-hour shifts are available September 1 from 2-7PM. On September 2-4 the shifts will be from 7AM to 9PM, and 7AM to noon on September 5. Organizers say volunteers are welcome to sign up for more than one shift and can volunteer in groups or individually.

Sign up is at the Faribault Area Senior Center desk during regular hours, 9AM to 4PM. If you have any questions you are asked to phone Patt at (507) 339-1729.

There are four traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall replicas that cross the nation. I believe the one coming to Faribault is one of the largest.

We will get more details when Peter Van Sluis visits with us in mid- to late August on AM Minnesota to give us more details.
