Waseca Co. Goes Over 70 Cases Per 10,000 In Latest Information

Earlier this morning the Minnesota Department of Health released the latest set of 14-day COVID-19 Case Rate by County data online. The number of counties over the threshold of 50 cases per 10,000 residents went up from 1 to 6, with Waseca County having an average over 70.

When a county reaches a certain number per 10,000 case thresholds it signals different rates of positive case growth, any county over 50 cases per 10,000 it is suggested to implement distance learning for all students. The Bureau of Prisons' website states that the Federal prison in Waseca as of yesterday has had 76 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in its inmate population and 2 confirmed cases among staff.
