[WATCH] Drone Footage Of Highway 93 After The Water Recedes

As the flooded rivers begin to return to the confines of their banks, what they leave behind is pretty shocking. Silt, trees, and other debris littered Highway 93 near Henderson after portions of the Rush River exceeded it's banks. MnDOT tweeted out the video that shows what was left behind.

It was unclear at the time of the flooding if there would be anything left of the road when the waters receded. But luckily the road seems to be in pretty good shape, although it still remains closed, due to a portion of 93 still being under water as the Rush River continues to flow over its banks.

MnDOT reminds motorists that going around barriers on closed roads could result in a fine or jail time. The actual statute 160.2715 states:

“It shall be unlawful to drive over, through, or around any barricade, fence, or obstruction erected for the purpose of preventing traffic from passing over a portion of a highway closed to public travel or to remove, deface, or damage any such barricade, fence, or obstruction.”

A violation of this is a misdemeanor, with a fine up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. Last week a Minnesota couple had to be rescued after they went around a barrier and their vehicle was swept off the road.
