It was Wayzata's first boys basketball title since 1959.

The Minnesota State High School League noted for the first time in boys basketball state tournament history, an all-African American crew officiated a championship game.

Working the historic game were Craig Laird of Apple Valley, Ricky Spencer of Brooklyn Park and Lamar Sullivan of Minneapolis.

Prior to the Class AAAA title game a moment of silence was observed in memory of longtime state officials' clinician Jimmy Robinson who passed away in December.

It just wasn't the same not seeing him at the scorer's table during State Tournament games, but no bands with their energetic sounds was also a casualty of COVID-19.

I feel ancient when I see this.  What are your thoughts?
