The 7th Street bridge struck again, literally. Yesterday residents and drivers in the area were treated to another brief closure in the area around the 7th Street bridge, as a semi hauling a load of live turkeys thought it could squeeze under the low bridge. Video captured after the collision showed live turkeys poking their heads up through the hole that was created from the bridge tearing off a portion of the top of the trailer.

Erica Staab took video of the trailer after the bridge collision, and the live birds seemed a little confused as to why the roof was suddenly gone.

The semi which was pulling the trailer had JB Hunt Ag Services printed on the door, was more than likely making its way to the Jennie-O turkey plant in town. The birds that were visible appeared to be no worse for wear at the roof popped up creating a cavity for the turkeys to look out of.

It's unclear if the hole created from the collision released any birds onto 7th Street. Although the video seems to show at least one bird questioning the driver of the semi with a knowing glance.

Collisions with the bridge located over 7th Street NW in Faribault are nothing new to residents as seemingly at least once a month a semi or higher profile vehicle hits the bottom of the bridge creating a mess on the roadway.

The City of Faribault has posted numerous flashing signs along 7th Street warning drivers of the low overpass, which serves as a railroad bridge.

H/T to Erica Staab for sharing her video with us!
