0A St. Cloud State University study revealed that if women eat spicy foods on a date, the man sitting across from her is likely to appear more attractive and she will be more likely to want to pursue a romantic relationship.

Woah, woah, wait ... what?!

During the study, 87 women were split into three groups. One group was given spicy food, one sweet food, and one bland food. After eating, they asked the ladies to rate random men on their attractiveness and if they would like to pursue a relationship with the man on a 1 to 9 scale.

The study shows that when women ate spicy food they found the men more attractive and more likely to want to pursue a relationship. The opposite happened when they ate sweet foods.

So why is it that spicy foods make men more attractive? The thought is that words like "hot" are used to describe spicy food and also used to describe attractive people. So the brain associated the word "hot" with the food and also the person they were looking at, causing the women to think of the man as more attractive.
