Additional Information

Join the Rice County Historical Society in celebrating the opening of its new 3,000-square-foot museum addition from 2-4PM Saturday, December 12. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 2:30PM.

The $600,000 addition, which provides climate-controlled space in which to preserve documents, also allows the RCHS to expand its collection. Money to pay for the construction was approved by the Rice County Commissioners.

The addition also includes a new public meeting room, which was furnished through a donation from the Carlander family. Because of the Carlander family's long history of support, the public meeting room will be named the Carlander Family Room, and dedication will take place as part of the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Rice County Historical Society Museum is at 1814 N.W. Second Ave., Faribault. People attending the open house should use the east entrance.
