SCHS Adopt A Highway Clean Up on May 15

Sunday, May 15, the Steele County Humane Society (SCHS) will clean-up their designated Adopt-a-Highway, rain or shine, according to the press release.

There will be a meeting at the Owatonna Business Incubator, 1065 SW 24th Ave., at 8:30AM that will include a safety video. The humane society will bring the donuts, and they suggest you bring a couple of beverages, especially water.

MNDot will provide safety vests and garbage bags. The suggested attire includes:

• long pants
• heavy shoes or boots
• gloves
• hats
• sunglasses/sunscreen
• glass
• and a grabber, so you will have less bending

A reminder there will be walking in long, heavy grass and hilly areas. The clean-up will take a couple of hours. The SCHS will be transport participants to and from the area using their van.
