Kurt Cobain's hometown, Aberdeen, Washington, will commemorate the achievements of the late Nirvana frontman on what would have been his 47th birthday. The city's mayor, Bill Simpson, declared today to be "Kurt Cobain Day, " and says they're doing it to celebrate Kurt's contribution to the music world. The Aberdeen Museum of History will host an event at which a statue of Kurt will be unveiled, also scheduled to appear are Cobain's guitar teacher, Warren Mason & Nirvana's first drummer, Aaron Burckhard.
