Well it's finally here, the summer music event I look forward to each year, the Blue Collar BBQ and Arts Festival this Saturday, Aug. 8, from 11AM to 11PM on Central Avenue in downtown Faribault. Those of you who have been to any of the previous festivals know what a good time it is for the whole family. If you haven't ever stopped down, then I invite you to grab the kids and your friends and come out for 12 hours of great live music, delicious food, art and more.

This week I'm featuring a different Blue Collar BBQ and Arts Festival band each day on the Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.

On Monday I highlighted The Dead Pigeons and their track "1821 Riverside Avenue" off their Even If I Knew CD. This band kicks off the festivities at 11AM on the Power 96 Mainstage, you can find out more about them at: http://www.thedeadpigeons.com/home

Tuesday's Cool One came from festival favorite Moses Oakland. He's returning again this year to entertain on and off the stage around 2:30PM. I featured his cover of "CC Rider." Find out more at: http://moseso.com

Today's Power 96 Cool One at 4:35PM comes from The Jason Paulson Band. Jason is also a returning performer -- this is his third time playing at the festival -- and they never fail to put on a great show. He just released a double CD set, History 1 and 2. I decided to share track 7, "Jericho Road," from History 1. According to Jason, this track features the harmonica stylings of local musician Mark Allen. I'm told that Mark will be joining Jason and the band onstage this Saturday, so if you've enjoyed Mark performing with the Key West Rejects or any of his solo work, you don't want to miss this performance. It's like getting a two for one deal. The Jason Paulson Band hits the stage around 4:15PM, you can check out his webpage at: http://jasonpaulsonband.com/home
