Hard rock band Bang Tango was my Power 96 Cool One artist on Thursday. I chose to feature their single, "Someone Like You," from their debut album, Psycho Cafe. Released in May 1989, the album proved to be a gem among the glut of hairbands that record labels were busy signing in order to milk as much money from the hair metal genre of music, by making its way to No. 58 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Formed in 1987 in Los Angeles, Calif, they ended up signing with MCA Records before releasing Psycho Cafe. They put out three albums between 1989 and 1994 before breaking up in 1995. The  band has gotten together with over the years in various forms with a variety of artists and released three more albums. They've also released six live and compilation albums over the life of their career so, despite the fact that they never attained the popularity they probably hoped for, they still have a nice catalog of offerings to chose from.

This afternoon's Power 96 Cool One brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, comes your way a little earlier today at 3:35 due to Kenyon-Wanamingo vs. W-E-M softball action this afternoon with pregame coverage starting at 3:45PM.
