Boston was the Power 96 Cool One artist yesterday with their track "Cool the Engines" from their third studio album, Third Stage. Released in 1986, the record was a No. 1 hit for the band on the U.S. Billboard 200 and also topped out at No. 1 on the Canadian chart. The single peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. This album performed well for Boston, yielding four charting singles including the No. 1 hit "Amanda" along with "We're Ready," "Can'tcha Say (You Believe in Me)/Still In Love" and yesterday's Cool One.

The song "The Launch" is the lead-in for "Cool the Engines" on the album and is broken up into three different parts, titled "Countdown, Ignition, Third Stage Separation," as it slowly ramps up to the aforementioned track.
