Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One was Foreigner's "Love Has Taken It's Toll" from their second studio album, Double Vision. As a single it failed to chart, but three others did: "Hot Blooded" came in at No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, "Blue Morning, Blue Day" topped out at No.15, and the title track peaked at No. 2. The album was a huge success for the band, reaching No 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200, only their 1981 release, 4, did better on the charts, reaching No. 2.

On a side note, the album Double Vision contains the only instrumental by Foreigner on a studio album. It's track No. 7, "Tramontane."
