Last Friday's Power 96 Cool One came from Guns N' Roses. I wanted to play something that we didn't normally play and I started perusing their catalog of singles and came across "Yesterdays." Amazingly, this track performed better for them in the UK than here at home, hitting the charts at No. 8 while it peaked at No. 72 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 13 on the Mainstream Rock chart. The album it came from, Use Your Illusion II, was a No. 1 hit in the U.S., Canada, Australia and the UK. As their fourth studio album, it was released in September 1991 and was slightly more popular than Use Your Illusion I. It's also the last record to feature drummer Steven Adler on the "Civil War" track.

This afternoon's Cool One features a Canadian bluesy and blue collar rock band formed in 2011. Tune in this afternoon at 4:35 to find out who these guys are on the next Power 96 Cool One brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
