Judas Priest's "Take on the World" was yesterday's Power 96 Cool One. The single unfortunately failed to garner them a hit here in the U.S. but did manage to peak at No. 14 on the UK Singles chart. The album's original title in the UK is Killing Machine, but the U.S. record label didn't like the violent sound of the title and so it was retitled Hell Bent for Leather. In the UK the album was released in October 1978 and in the U.S. it debuted a few months later in February 1979. The album made it to No. 128 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 32 on the UK Albums chart and was the last album that drummer Les Binks appeared on.

Hell Bent for Leather was the first Judas Priest album that I owned and it's, by far, my favorite due to all thee great memories I associate with it. This was one of the bands that was constantly playing in my car when I was in high school.

Listen at 4:35PM this afternoon for your next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
