Last Friday's Power 96 Cool One came from a band that I've always liked but critics basically called them Led Zeppelin clones, although I never felt that way about them. The band was Kingdom Come and I tracked their single "Do You Like It" off their 1989 release In Your Face. The single made it to No. 21 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. They released two other singles from the album, "Who Do You Love," which peaked at No. 37 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and "Overrated," which failed to make an impact on the charts. The album charted at No. 49 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and made it to No. 25 in the UK. The band's name and the album title put together make for a good double entendre.

This weeks first Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault, comes from an artist that became famous fronting another iconic rock band before leaving them for a solo career and then rejoining them again more than two decades later. I'll track a tune recorded during his solo years at 4:35PM today on Power 96.
