Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One was from Quiet Riot's single "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" from their fourth studio album Condition Critical released in 1984. Originally recorded by the British glam rock band Slade, "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" peaked at No. 51 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and was the band's last charting single. The album sold over 3 million copies and made it to No. 15 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

One of Quiet Riot's other hits, "Cum on Feel the Noize," was also a cover of a Slade song which was a No. 1 hit for them in the UK.

Quiet Riot started out as Mach 1 and was formed by Randy Rhoads and Kelly Garni in 1973. Although the most successful line-up contained Kevin DuBrow, Carlos Cavazo, Rudy Sarzo and Frankie Banali.
