Not only is Robert Plant a phenomenal vocalist as the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, but I've thoroughly enjoyed most of his solo work as well. Which is why I chose "29 Palms" from his sixth solo studio album, Fate of Nations, as Monday's Power 96 Cool One. Released on May 25, 1993, this record climbed to No. 34 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart. The Cool One peaked at No. 111 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, No. 4 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and No. 21 on the UK Singles Chart.

Fate of Nations featured the guitar work from former Cutting Crew guitarist Kevin Scott MacMichael. The track "I Believe" also appears on the album and is a tribute to his late son, Karac. He passed away at age five in 1977 from a stomach infection while Plant was touring the U.S. with Led Zeppelin.

This afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, comes creeping your way at 4:35PM. Be ready to crank it up.
