My Power 96 Cool One choice for Thursday was Savoy Brown's "Run to Me" from their 1981 release, Rock 'N' Roll Warriors. This track would prove to be their highest charting single in the United States, reaching No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album, although popular and helped propel them into the major arenas, managed to make its way to No. 185 on the U.S. charts and was the last of their albums to chart in the United States.

Known more as a blues rock band, their original name was the Savoy Brown Blues Band, this album had a heavier sound to it and featured the vocals of former Joe Perry Project lead singer Ralph Morman and former British hard rock members of Heavy Metal Kids, guitarist Barry Paul and drummer Keith Boyce. "Run to Me" was a cover of a song originally recorded by another English rock band, Smokie.
