Power 96 Cool One Recap: Y&T

Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One was Y&T's title track from their 1987 release, Contagious, which went to No. 78 on the U.S. Billboard 200. This hard rock band that hails from Oakland, Calif., always had a dedicated following but were never really able to break into the mainstream world of rock. Which is too bad, since they're a very talented band with very intense live shows and some very catchy tunes. Memorable tunes include "Meanstreak," "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," "Forever," "Rescue Me" and their most popular song, "Summertime Girls." Another track that I recommend you check out is the title track from their Black Tiger album.

The Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault, that I chose for today comes from a band that I heard quite often as a kid listening to WDGY as it blared from the speakers at White Sands Pool in Faribault. Man, that makes me feel old.
