Yesterday's "Power 96 Cool One" featured hard rock staple AC/DC, track No. 4 off their Dec. 2, 2014, release Rock or Bust. Miss Adventure was recommended to me by a friend that asked me to think about tracking it as one of the Cool Ones. Although not a single off the album, I decided to feature it, having previously played Play Ball and Rock or Bust.

Rock or Bust is the 15th album internationally released by AC/DC, and it clocks in at 35 minutes, making it the shortest AC/DC album in their catalog. The previous one being Flick of the Switch at 37 minutes. Don't get me wrong though, Rock or Bust definitely rocks, staying with their signature sound, and keeping it short and simple works well for the band. It topped out at No. 5 here in the United States and made it to No. 1 in Canada and their homeland of Australia.

This is also the first album without Malcom Young, one of the band's founding members and rhythm guitarist, who had to leave the band in 2014 for health reasons. Young was officially diagnosed with dementia and will probably never play again. Although he has writing credits for each track on the album, his nephew, Stevie Young, recorded all of his guitar, thus keeping it in the family.

Tune in today at 4:35 p.m. to find out what today's "Power 96 Cool One," brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts, will be. I can tell you it's a pretty obscure 80s metal band that you probably have never heard of. They have an AC/DC sound, especially the vocals. They remind me of Bon Scott. Give it a listen, you just might be pleasantly surprised.
