The Rice County Sheriff's Office reports a 69 year old Dennison man was critically injured in a farm accident today.

According to a News Release from the Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the area of Dennison Boulevard and Goodhue Avenue in Rice County about 11:44 a.m. for a medical emergency.

Also dispatched were Northfield Ambulance and Northfield Fire and Rescue.

The release doesn't give many details and simply says, "Emergency personnel responded to a farm accident involving livestock."

The victim was identified as Daniel Koester of Dennison and the preliminary investigation revealed, "the victim was injured while tending to livestock in a pasture."

Koester was treated at the scene and airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Rice County Deputy Paul LaRoche says Koester was listed in critical condition.

The Rice County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Northfield Fire Department, Northfield Ambulance and The Minnesota State Patrol.
