The Faribault Falcons opened their season at Nomeland Gym Friday night with a tenacious defense that held Rochester John Marshall to a single field goal in the first 2:18.  Unfortunately Faribault had their scoring difficulties and couldn't keep up the intensity.  They found themselves down 47-22 at the half. A much better second half was turned in by Faribault as they fell 72-48.   John Marshall is loaded with talent, led by 6'7 Junior Michael Hurt.  He did put a hurt on Faribault with 21 first half points and 6'2 Junior guard D'Angelo Tines added 16.  The Rocket guards provide constant pressure and Faribault didn't handle it well at times with 20 turnovers in the game and JM scored 14 points off those turnovers.  The Falcons were led by 6'7 Sophmore Kade Hart with 15 points including 4 threes.  6'7 Senior Devin Jandro came off the bench to provide 7 points and three others collected six points each, Kallan Hart, Brady Combs and Chase Ernste.  Faribault was 5 of 15 from three point range and 11 of 19 from the free throw line.  John Marshall was 9 of 17 from beyond the arc and also 9 of 17 from the charity stripe.  The Falcons travel to Red Wing Tuesday.  Coverage on POWER 96 Radio 95.9FM begins 7:15pm.  You can also listen online at power96radio.com or by downloading the FREE Radio Pup app on your favorite mobile device.
