A spokesman says 54-year-old Todd Weatherly was killed when the small lawn tractor he was driving was struck by a vehicle on Marion Road Southeast near the Mighty Oaks Early Learning School around 10 pm. Weatherly had just finished mowing a neighbor’s lawn on the east side of the road and was returning to his home when the collision occurred.
The driver of the vehicle that hit him, 24-year-old Samuel Imhoff of rural Rochester, was headed south on Marion Road and told deputies he didn’t see the lawn tractor until it was too late. Alcohol was not involved in the deadly incident, which remains under investigation.
