Youth Center at Faribo West Mall Discussed on AM Minnesota

Laura Sterling from the Faribo West Mall stops by the KDHL Studio today to talk about the Youth Center located at the mall.

Growing up in little Spring Valley, Minnesota, I was fortunate they had a youth center open throughout my high school years, and I have fond memories of time spent there. We had air hockey tournaments, pool tournaments, ping pong tournaments and all sorts of fun. There was a TV room. Of course, this was before cell phones and even before video games.

I assume that's changed things a bit, but having a safe place to meet with friends is still a necessity.

Our Youth Center in Spring Valley was in the basement of the old Sears building, and on the main floor of the building they would have teen dances. Those dances were a blast and they used to have a New Year's Eve dance there every year where I made some fond memories.
