$18,000 In Silver Stolen From Owatonna Business, Police Need Your Help
The Owatonna Police Department is asking for the public's health in finding a suspected silver thief from this weekend. Viracon was victim to the theft to the tune of around $18,000.
According to the press release issued by the OPD:
On June 2, 2021, at approximately 3:30 AM, a male suspect, wearing blue jeans, a Carhartt style jacket, blue face mask, blue t-shirt, black sunglasses and a black beanie style hat, entered a Viracon building and stole approximately 40 pounds of scrap silver. The value of the silver was estimated at approximately $18,000. Surveillance video captured an image of the suspect.
The 40 pounds of scrap silver would likely have been turned in to a nearby scrap yard, or taken out of the area to be redeemed for cash.
