The MSHSL Speech Tournament was held virtually this weekend due to the COVID pandemic.  Mounds Park Academy led Class A with 4 Gold Medal recipients followed by Paynesville Area and Winona Cotter with 2 each.

In Class AA Eastview of Apple Valley and Chanhassen had three state champions each, Apple Valley finished with two.  Class AA Team Standings from Speechwire Tournament Services:

Cannon Falls had two individuals place second.  Kendall Lawless in Dramatic Interpretation and Aizlynn Thim in Extemperaneous Reading.

The Bombers Lydia Pedersen finished 5th in Extemperaneous Speaking.  Emma Watson was 7th in Humerous Interpretation.  Jessica Baszuro finished 8th in Prose Reading.

Richard Sylak of Zumbrota-Mazeppa was 4th in Discussion.  Kaylee Arndt of Fillmore Central placed 4th in Creative Expression.  Catherine Williamson of Pine Island was 7th in Dramatic Interpretation. Sydney Ellis and Peyton Ellis of Chatfield were 5th in Duo Interpretation.  Haylee Gunderson and Sebastian Rappe of Randolph 7th.

Storytelling Champion was Zanessa Anderson of Rushford-Peterson with Alletta Strande of Chatfield finishing 7th.

Class A competition was held Saturday.  Class A A on Friday.

Thor Reimann of Eastview claimed the Gold Medal.  Elie Sayers of Lakeville North was 5th.
