According to an announcement from the City of Owatonna, Rose Street is closed beginning today. Rose will be closed from Hoffman Drive to Oak Avenue for repair to the storm sewer system and other underground damage to the street.

The news release from the City of Owatonna states:

"Rose Street (County Highway 19) from Hoffman Drive to Oak Avenue will be closed to all traffic starting Monday, May 24.  Crews will be making repairs to a collapsed storm sewer and to underground damages to the street. A detour will be posted using Hoffman Drive, Oak Avenue, Main Street, and Elm Avenue. Because the extent of the damages is not fully known yet, the date to reopen the street is not determined."

A reminder to motorists from MnDOT that when you are inside of work zones you should slow down, drive undistracted, and "expect work zones to constantly change. Day to day you could experience lane shifts, closures, or moving workers and vehicles."
