Faribault Falcons senior libero Hanna Cunniff got her 1,000th dig Tuesday night in a    3-0 loss to Big Nine Conference Champion Northfield.

Score for the match were 25-13, 25-16, 25-15.  The Raiders remain undefeated.  The Falcons fell to 4-4 on their COVID-19 shortened seasons.

Achieving 1,000 kills is an awesome accomplishment in volleyball.

Cunniff started as libero for the team her sophomore season after playing behind Grace Amacher.  Amacher went on to play volleyball and basketball at St. Catherine University in St. Paul.

Cunniff needs 25 kills to break the school record.  In all honesty barring an injury she would have broken the record during a normal volleyball season but this season has been anything but normal.

The Falcons picked up a match against Cannon Falls tonight to finish their season.

Head Coach JoAnna Lane told KDHL last Saturday in Red Wing she was going to try to get another match added to their schedule this week knowing it was their final week.

Other volleyball scores last night included:

Byron over Goodhue in four sets.  Randolph swept Schaeffer Academy in Rochester.  Waconia swept Jordan.  New Prague over Mound Westonka in four sets.  Rosemount swept Apple Valley.  Lakeville North 3 Shakopee 0.  Hutchinson swept Mankato West.  Waseca over Fairmont in three sets.  Red Wing 3 Albert Lea 0.  Waterville-Elysian-Morristown swept New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva.  John Marshall defeated Owatonna in 4 sets in Rochester.

Medford downed Hayfield in a five set thriller in Hayfield with two sets going to volleyball's version of overtime.  Hayfield won the first set 25-19, Medford captured the second 25-17, Medford ran away with the third set 25-12 before Hayfield won 28-26 and Medford squeezed out the final set 16-14.
