Faribault Police report they were dispatched to the Rice County Fairgrounds Saturday for a burglary report and criminal damage to property.  Several campers and RVs stored in secure buildings on the Fairgrounds for the winter were found damaged, ransacked with items missing.

The call came in about 7:30 a.m.  Faribault Police Chief Andy Bohlen says, "Officers spoke with several owners of campers who arrived to discover that windows had been smashed, entry had been made, and miscellaneous property had been stolen. At this time, Officers have taken reports from six victims regarding the damages and thefts."

The Faribault Police Department news release states, "At approximately 11:13 a.m. the Lonsdale Police Department received a call from a camper owner who had already towed his camper back to his home in Lonsdale. Once home, the owner was able to unlock his camper and make entry. The owner immediately noticed the interior of his camper was in disarray and Lonsdale Police and the Rice County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist. Law enforcement located a male hiding inside the camper who was transported to the hospital for a medical attention."

"The male located inside the camper was later arrested by the Faribault Police Department and is currently in custody pending court appearance. The subject confessed to breaking into multiple campers and damaging property."
